Why vent your fenders?

The rotating tire creates lots of air turbulence and pressure inside your fender. That pressure equals lift! Lift is the enemy of going fast. Reducing lift has the same net effect as adding downforce to your car. Venting your fenders releases that pressure build up in the wheel well, reducing the lift in this area.

Features of the kit

This is a DIY part. That said, we’ve thought about ease of install from the beginning and you get a full vinyl cut template which removes all of the guesswork from your install – just stick it on and it shows you where to cut.

The louvers ship flat (unbent) in bare aluminum. You bend the fins when you receive them, and you’re free to finish them however you prefer. Powdercoat will have great longevity, but even simple Rustoleum flat black works and looks good on a track car. Another great tip is to go down to your local NAPA and they can paint match to your car’s color and mix it up in a spray can for under $10.

INSTALL NOTE: Our products are all about enabling DIYers. That said, the C7 front fenders are made of a plastic/fiberglass composite that cuts easily with a cutoff disc but will also show mistakes easily. And the thickness of the fender material means you can’t cover the cut edge with rubber trim like many of our other louvers kits. For that reason, this kit comes with a little bit more of a disclaimer than our others; we recommend that this install only be taken on by DIYers who are comfortable with fabrication and have the appropriate tools (air powered grinder with cutoff disc and drum sander are what we use). Otherwise, have a shop do the install to ensure you’ll be happy with the final results.
